In short
Health is a restricted category on every major ad platform, which removes the targeting levers most campaigns lean on. What is left is intent, geography and the quality of the offer.
Across our documented healthcare work, the results came from search intent and from patient-facing clarity, not from clever audience building, because clever audience building is largely unavailable here.
The documented work
| Practice | Channel | Documented outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Medical imaging centre | Google Ads | Call enquiries up 76% on $1,000 a month |
| Psychiatry provider | Google Ads | Leads up 225%, conversion costs down 31%, over two years |
| Plastic surgery clinic | Meta Ads | 143 leads at $3.56 on a $350 monthly budget |
| Cosmetic treatment clinic | SEO | Impressions up 110%, traffic up 61.08% |
| Medical practice | SEO | Traffic converting into clinic visits and certifications |
| Online medical training | Meta Ads | 170+ course appointments at $11.43 |
The psychiatry engagement is the one we would point a prospective clinic at, and not because the numbers are the largest. It runs over two years. In a category where a patient relationship is long and the decision is serious, a two-year record is the only kind of evidence worth much.1
What the restrictions actually change
- No health-based audience targetingMeta does not let you build an audience around an inferred medical condition. Campaigns that would work in another category by narrowing to the affected group cannot be built at all.
- Claims have to be supportableOutcome language that would pass unremarked for a gym is a compliance problem for a clinic. This constrains the creative more than most agencies expect.
- Remarketing is limitedWhich raises the value of getting the first visit right, because the cheap second chance may not be available.
What we would do first
For most practices the first move is not advertising. It is the appointment path: how a patient books, how quickly someone responds, and whether the page they land on tells them what the visit costs and what happens in it. The imaging centre result is a 76% rise in call enquiries, and calls are where this sector converts.2
